Kristine Dunn has been teaching Music Together for over 16 years. She has been the director and owner of Music For Families, Inc. since 2001 and is the recipient of the City of Sunnyvale 2011 community award for Outstanding Contribution to the Arts. Kristine is an enthusiastic believer in the Music Together philosophies and attends classes regularly with her daughter. She also continues to teach Music Together classes to ensure she is connected to the essence of the program.
Kristine's lifelong love of music has taken many forms.
She is a seasoned cellist who started
playing at the age of nine, performing with the El Camino Youth Symphony,
the California Youth Symphony and several theatrical musicals. She has
taught strings at the
Waldorf School of the Peninsula since 2007 and furthers her
professional development by performing training with a
master cellist weekly. As a singer, she performed with the Santa Cruz
Chorale.
She has achieved her Music Together Certification Level
1, has been trained in the Orff-Schulwerk method, and teaches Suzuki cello. Her diverse musical background and
her roles as teacher, director and mother afford her a unique
perspective and enable her to engage with families in a more holistic
way.
